Our Goal:
The Behavior Specialists from the Behavior Support Network created this series to enhance the early childhood community by building competence and confidence around how to support healthy development in young children. This series is dedicated to the village it takes to raise a child. We want all professionals, Families, and Caregivers of young children to grow together while working to support positive behaviors in young children and strive to prevent challenging behaviors.
Volume I: Reframing Challenging Behavior

Episode 3 presents the importance of reframing children’s behavior and discusses what that process entails. The Episode 3 Tip Sheet also provides an important resource for making that school-home connection.
Episode 4 examines why breathing matters for you and the young children in your care and models breathing exercises for you to use in your classroom. The Episode 4 Tip Sheet provides additional connection points and links to resources from the National Center on Pyramid Model Innovation (NCPMI).

Episode 6: In the final entry of the Reframing Challenging Behavior series, we discuss neutralizing routines and explain how they can help support the young learners in their classrooms. Volume II: Reframing Regulation
Welcome to the Reframing Regulation series! This first video highlights how to use co-regulation to teach children to respond emotionally through self-regulation. For more information, download the Episode 1 Tip Sheet.
Episode 2 outlines the importance of Co-Regulation and how caregivers can help young children build their co-regulation skills through modeling and teaching. Check out the Episode 2 Tip Sheet for resources on co-regulation and avoiding meltdowns.

Episode 4 outlines Mindfulness and how teachers and caretakers can manage stress using Mindful Minutes and box breathing exercises. Episode 5 focuses on how to create Safe Spaces for children to calm down and regulate. The Episode 5 Tip Sheet includes resources from NCPMI such as Feeling Faces and Tucker Turtle stories.

Volume III: Reframing Relationships
An introduction to this volume on the many layers of building healthy and supportive relationships, how they impact behavior, and practical tools to strengthen relationships across the early learning community. For more information, download the Episode 1 Tip Sheet.
Dive deeper into your role in building relationships with families as an essential factor in understanding children’s behavior and developing positive learning experiences for children and their families. Episode 4 examines how positive staff relationships set the tone for supportive classroom environments that have healthy responses to children’s challenging behavior with resources for successful teaming. "Blueprints to Caring Connections" analyzes specific responses to behavior that will nurture individualized, healthy and supportive relationships with children that promote problem-solving and positive behavior. The Episode 5 Tip Sheet has more information on specific responses to behavior.

The final episode in Volume III explores ways to support positive peer relationships among young children. You will learn specific strategies and explore materials that can help children build social skills, develop positive interactions, and strengthen their ability to play, communicate, and problem-solve with one another.
