Preschool Suspension & Expulsion: Shared Definitions and Next Steps

Developed by a system-level cross-sector group of South Carolina leaders, this webinar will define suspension and expulsion in early childhood settings based on the policy solutions recommended by the Joint Citizens and Legislative Council’s Committee on Children released their 2023 Annual Report.

During this session, you will learn more about the policy landscape in our state related to suspension and expulsion and the process used to draft them. Our goal is to share these definitions across the early childhood system to develop policies and professional development to reduce or eliminate these exclusionary practices in early childhood and highlight current supports available in SC to prevent the use of these practices.
